My New PC

The spec

Intel Core 2 Quad 6600
Zalman CNPS 9500 CPU Cooler
4GB Kingston KVR-800 RAM (2GB x2)
ATI Power Color 4850
MSi Platinum P45

2 x Seagate 500 Gb hard disk

Cooler Master Extreme Power 650 Watt
Samsung 19" NWX widescreen monitor
Altec Lansing VS 2421

Setting up

the set up process was quite tedious, it took me approximately 3 hour just to assemble all the part and pieces together but it was worth it just look at it.....

it took me quite a while just to install the OS and all the 6 driver disc. after finishing all that i try the to do some benchmarking with the built in vista experience index.it was quite suprising to get a full mark of 5.9, that was a lot better than my old laptop which score 3.4 only

Unforeseen Problem

although with this high rating my pc was still quite unstable it crashes within every 15 minutes or so. later i found out the the ATI driver was obslete and the graphic card was overheating. the problem was solve after i u[dated all my driver to the latest.

Overclocking

this was my first attempt to overclock anything. i was thinking of the consequence if i should fail because all the warranty will be void automatically but my curiousty win. the result was good i was able to attain a speed around 3.3 Ghz although it was very unstable then i have to stepped down to 3.11Ghz with the FSB = 346 Voltage = 1.288 V and core temperature of 34C idle , 63C at full loadwhich was quiete reasonable. The graphic card was also overclocked. the GPU at 675 MHz and the GPU Memory to 1115 MHz.
